Kurt Chan

Kurt Chan studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in the UK, majoring Violin performance with teachers such as Peter Hanson, Eyal Kless, and Nick Whiting. He has also participated in masterclasses by Marat Bisengaliev, Marianne Thorsen, and Ivry Gitlis.

Much in demand as a freelance Violinist and Violist, Kurt has performed with major ensembles in Hong Kong, Macao and abroad, including MusicaViva, City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong, Opera Hong Kong Orchestra, Inheritage Philharmonic Orchestra, Macao Orchestra, 24/04 World Orchestra (Armenia), Dartington Festival Orchestra (UK). He has also performed with the Hong Kong Contemporary Music Group, Ensemble Traversée, Colin Currie Quartet, giving Hong Kong and World premieres in major venues in HK and around the World. In 2023, Kurt has appeared as soloist and chamber musician playing as part of the HKU MUSE program “A Tribute to Maestro Doming Lam”. As a frequent session musician, Kurt has played in the Hong Kong Coliseum, Asia-World Expo, KITEC for various pop groups and singers including Kōji Tamaki, Sam Hui, Ivana Wong, Hecken Lee, etc.

陳氏出生於香港，十六歲開始學習小提琴。 陳先生畢業於威爾士皇家音樂與戲劇 學院，獲得音樂學士(榮 譽)學位，隨後繼續在皇家北方音樂學院攻讀音樂(表演)碩 士學位。 他的老師包括 Peter Hanson、Eyal Kless 和 Nick Whiting。 他參加過 Marat Bisengaliev、Marianne Thorsen 和 Ivry Gitlis 的大師班。

陳氏曾在英國、香港、奧地利、瑞士、匈牙利、澳門、中國大陸、台灣擔任室內樂 和管弦樂小提琴家和中提 琴家。 曾與澳門樂團、香港城市室樂團、香港歌劇院樂 團、香港弦樂團、香港交響樂團、達廷頓 (Dartington)節慶管弦樂團合作，曾與 Diego Mason、已故的Charles Mackerras爵士、保羅·丹尼爾、呂嘉和弗拉 基米爾· 阿什肯納齊(V.Ashkenazy)。

作為一名小提琴手，陳氏是香港當代音樂團體的成員，經常在香港一些最具創意的 空間演出，例如西九文化 區的自由空間及大館的賽馬會立方。 他還以跨流派項目

“禾日·水巷”(2015、2017)進行了世界巡演，在威爾頓音樂廳(英國最古老的音樂 廳之一)、台北、上海的東方明珠中心和南京演出。

近期合作包括與Colin Currie Group在Toolbox Percussion festival gala concert演出，以 及在香港體育館、 KITEC和AsiaExpo舉辦的多場粵語流行音樂會和“迪士尼音樂 會”，觀眾總數超過50000人。 2023年，陳先生作為獨奏家和室內樂演奏家，參與 香港大學MUSE計畫「向林多明大師致敬」。陳先生常擔任伴奏音樂家，曾在香港 體育館、亞洲國際博覽館、九龍灣國際展貿中心為多個流行樂團和歌手演出，包括 玉置浩二、許冠傑、王菀之、李克勤等。
