Melissa Sorohan

A native of the United States, Melissa Sorohan currently resides in Hong Kong where she is performer and vocal instructor.

Melissa graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Voice from Cleveland Institute of Music in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, and soon after began teaching in a suburban music school. In 2012 she was appointed to Adjunct Instructor of Voice at Malone University in Canton, Ohio where she continued to teach until 2017. During this time she completed her Master of Music degree in Voice from The University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. In 2017 she moved to Hong Kong to take a voice teaching position. She currently is a freelance actor, singer, and well-saught educator in Hong Kong.

Melissa is currently a busy actress in Hong Kong, working with such troupes as Dove Tales Theatre, Dragonesque Theatre, and learning the art of puppetry with Treasure Chest Theatre. She also performs regularly with the murder mystery events company, Harbour Secrets, and is a crew member for World Family Club, where she teaches English through music and drama.

Melissa has also enjoyed many various singing performances all over the world, including in the United States, Italy, or here in Hong Kong. Some of her favourite opera roles include the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Baba in The Medium, La Zia Principessa in Suor Angelica, and First Lady in Die Zauberflöte. Melissa also regularly sings in the chorus of Opera Hong Kong.
